Feature Phone POS Terminal (Demo)

PRODUCT SUMMARY

This product was designed to enable digital payments between street vendors and underbanked customers at scale. The solution enables street vendors to use a Feature Phone as a POS terminal (without software or internet) to accept QR Code payments from customers using Feature Phones (without software or internet).

DEMO INSTRUCTIONS: (SOUTH AFRICA / AFRICA REGION)

Choose any 2 Feature Phones, one representing a Merchant and the other a Customer Handset.

STEP 1 (with the "Merchant" Handset)

 

Dial +27 872502145 and follow the voice instructions to enter the Payment Amount due (such as 22#), upon which the remote server will begin transmitting a related QR Code Sound File.

STEP 2 (with the "Customer" Handset)

Dial +27 872502771 and hold the handset near the Merchant Handset while it broadcasts the QR Code sound file.

 

STEP 3

Both Merchant and Customer handsets receive their respective text-based transaction receipts.

NOTES & DISCLAIMER

  1. The use of 3rd party voice channels can impact the quality of the testing experience.

  2. The distance between DIALR servers and testing parties can increase latency by +3 seconds.

  3. DIALR Servers can be deployed closer to potential customers where required.

  4. The solution works ACROSS handsets, including Smartphones without internet.
